Requesting Letters of Recommendation from PFHS Teachers
Add the colleges you are planning to apply to into your Common App account.
After MATCHING your Common App Account and your Naviance account, you will be able to view this list via Naviance under Colleges I'm Applying To.
From the Colleges tab in Family Connection, click the “Letters of Recommendation” link
Select the blue “Add Request” button
Select the PFHS teacher who has agreed to write the letter for you
Select whether or not you would like the teacher to send a letter to specific colleges or to ALL of the colleges you have applied to.
Please be sure to review this carefully as the number of letters required varies from college to college and you want to be sure the teachers know where to send their letter!
Include a personal note to the teacher thanking them and giving any information about WHY you are choosing them to write your letter- this is very helpful to teachers!
Submit Request
Your teacher will receive an email and you will be able to track whether or not their letter has been sent through your Naviance account.
Do NOT add your PFH teacher as a recommender in Common App.
Requesting Letters of Recommendation from PFHS Teachers
Non-Common App schools will not automatically appear in your list of Colleges you are applying to on Naviance. In order to add schools to this list you must FIRST submit your Official Transcript Request to the Counseling Office
Once the school has been added in by the Counseling Office you will be able to follow the same steps as above to add a recommendation request.
