Create Common App Account before matching.
Students need to match their Common App Account to Naviance. Matching allows your transcript & LOR to be sent.
Teacher letters of recommendation are only requested from Naviance.
Keep in mind you also need to complete a Transcript Release form for your transcript to be sent.
Steps are provided below & in video.
Begin by going to Common App
Select “Apply Now” and do one of the following:
a. Enter your login information to get into your account
b. Click “Create an Account” if you have not already done so. You will need to enter the registration information and fully create your account to continue
Complete these THREE initial Common App tasks:
a. Complete the “Current or Most Recent School” section under the Education section of the Common App Tab
i. Be sure to fill this section out completely
ii. Select “Potomac Falls High School” to populate our school information
b. Add at least ONE college to your Colleges Tab
i. Use the College Search tab to search for a school and add it to your list
c. Read and sign the FERPA agreement section
i. Under the “My Colleges” tab, please select Recommenders and FERPA
ii. Read the release in its entirety and carefully select whether you choose to waive your right to see your recommendations or not. This is YOUR choice, but you cannot change it once you have selected this and this must be completed before you can match your account.
Log into your Naviance account
a. Go to the “Colleges Tab”
b. Select “Colleges I’m applying to”
c. Enter the same email address used to register from Common App and your birthday
d. Click "Match"
Review your “Colleges I’m applying to” list that came over from Common App
