Career Awareness
The career component of elementary school counseling is very important because we are teaching that going to school is the students' "job". Being a student will prepare them for one day entering the world of work! In elementary school, we focus on identifying hobbies and interests that guide career exploration. We discuss responsibility, tools used in the workplace, "career clusters", ways to explore career options, and the variety of options available upon completions of high school.
