Ms. Jen French

Assigned to LOV: Tues, Wed, & Fri

Greetings Lovettsville Bears! I am incredibly excited to be your new school counselor for three full days per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the 2021-2022 school year. Counseling and helping others are my two greatest passions, and what I have committed my life to.

I was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, and then my family and I made our way to sunny California. I completed all my formal education in both Northern and Southern California, and my Bachelor of Arts degree in English & Comparative Literature with a minor in Expository Writing from San Diego State University. Go Aztecs!

My career in education began in SoCal after I earned my teaching credential in English Literature from Chapman University. I taught English Literature, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), and EL in addition to serving as a Title I & Program for English Language Learners Coordinator all at the high school level. Prescott College is where I obtained my Master's in Education, School Counseling degree which has been a dream of mine since I was in high school.

As a military spouse, I had the luxury of traveling—and living—across North America and Europe for the seven years we were an active-duty family before landing here in NOVA. I reside in Hillsboro, and much of my time is spent with my four children, Annie, Jonathan, Beatrice, and Harry. We love going to Franklin Park to swim in the pool, hike on the bridle path, play tennis on the courts, and eat lunch at the picnic tables where we catch and release fish near the fountain.

My goal is that every student succeeds academically and social-emotionally in addition to supporting their first steps towards career development. Please email or call me for support and we will work towards a solution. jennifer.french@lcps.org , 540.751.2470.

I am thrilled to get started!
