The Unified Mental Health Team (UMHT) is responsible for providing a continuum of prevention and intervention supports and services to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students and to remove barriers to learning in the school environment. School counselors, psychologists, social workers, and student assistance specialists work with teachers, school staff, and parents to support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, promote positive and supportive learning environments, and provide services that remove barriers to learning.
* The school counselor is the first point of contact for initial student concerns. The school counselor will collaborate and plan for supports with other school-based mental health team members (i.e., school psychologist, school social worker, student assistance specialist), as appropriate.
