Sensors are installed on posts approximately 1 meter high facing north located in wooded areas (islands) north, south and within the parking lot of the Academies. The sensors were established in May of 2019 to explore impacts of wooded island size on light and temperature data.
The north and central islands have at total of 30 sensors each. There are 6 sensors approximately 10 meters apart along five, 50 meter north/south transects separated by approximately 10 meters. Sensors are numbered by the distance along the transect starting with 0 meters at the most southern end. Transects are are identified by letters A-F starting with the most western transect as A.
The southern island has 48 sensors along six, 50 meter north/south transects. Transects are identified by letters A-F starting with the most western transect as A. Numbering of the sensors started with 0 meters at the most northern end. The first 5 sensors are each approximately 5 meters apart with the remaining 3 sensors 10 meters apart.

Sensor Status Log Sheet: This google sheet will provide information regarding the status of particular sensors including when data were downloaded or issues that might result in data loss For example, if a sensor battery goes dead or a sensor is destroyed the data may have gaps (which will be indicated in the status log). For sensors that are lost/destroyed, the sensor name will include a alphabetic identifier indicating a new sensor has been placed.
