Online Resources (Databases)
Online resources or databases provide information that is Credible, Accurate, Reasonable, & Supported. They offer a wide variety of information, including, but not limited to:
peer reviewed scholarly articles
reference articles (encyclopedias, almanacs, dictionaries etc.)
periodicals (magazines and newspapers)
videos, images, audio files
primary sources
Additionally, subscription based online resources (those provided provide citations, making it easier for students to cite their sources. Remember, always double check the citation for accuracy. Common errors include capitalization and punctuation.

Reminders
Most images on the Web are copyrighted, even if they don't say so. Only the copyright holder can grant permission to use an image.
In some cases the use of an image may be covered by Fair Use, especially for educational purposes.
To avoid copyright infringement, look for images that are in the Public Domain or have a Creative Commons license that allows for reuse.
Remember to cite and attribute all images both internally and in your Works Cited or References page.
If YOU are the creator, illustrator, or photographer of your image, you own the copyright and do not need to cite yourself.

Citing Images
If you use an image you did not create, you must provide a citation. At minimum, image citations should include the following information:
Artist's/creator's name
Title
Repository information (museum, library, or other owning institution)
Source (where you found the image: database, website, book etc.)
Date accessed
