Experience. Mrs. DiSalvo is in her 19th year at Heritage High School! This is her first year as a librarian. Before coming to Heritage to teach English in 2007, she taught Freshman Composition at Radford University and English in Frederick County, VA.
Education/Degrees. Mrs. DiSalvo holds a Bachelor's of Arts in English from Virginia Tech, a Master's degree in English from Radford University, a teaching certificate from Shenandoah University, and a certificate in School Librarianship from Longwood University.
Extracurriculars. She enjoys working with students in a variety of school activities, including co-sponsoring National English Honor Society and co-sponsoring ProjectLit. Mrs. DiSalvo is also a member of the Virginia Association of School Librarians.
Hobbies/Interests. In her spare time, Mrs. DiSalvo loves to spend time outside, exploring and hiking with her husband and three sons. She also enjoys reading, baking, traveling, and cuddling with her pets.
Experience. This is Mr. Yorke's 21st year working for LCPS and 23rd year teaching overall. He taught previously in Howard County, Maryland. This is his thirteenth year in the library at Heritage.
Education/Degrees. Mr. Yorke has a Bachelor of the Arts degree in English Literature from Lycoming College, located in Williamsport, PA and a Master's in Library Science from The Catholic University of America, located in Washington, D.C.
Extracurriculars. In addition to being a librarian, Mr. Yorke sponsors Project Lit. He is a member of the Loudoun Association of School Librarians and the Virginia Association of School Librarians.
Hobbies/Interests. In his spare time he likes to read, cook, bake, run (half marathons), sing, travel, and build and repurpose things. "What someone considers junk, I can imagine a myriad of things it could be repurposed as."
Nicknames. Many students refer to him as "Yorke" or "Yorketown".
