Hot Glue Gun

• Wear safety glasses/goggles

• Tie back hair and head coverings

• Set temperature to L (NOT H)

• Protect table tops with cardboard or other surface mats

• Use built-in stand to keep glue gun upright when not in use

• Allow glue gun to cool before placing back in totes

• Never leave glue gun unattended while plugged in

Cutting Wooden Sticks

• Wear safety glasses

• Use shears to cut wooden sticks NOT scissors

Utility Knives

• Always keep knife retracted when not in use

• Always use a sharp blade

• Always use a cutting mat

• Use a cork backed ruler or cutting guide

• Hand position: Curl fingertips so nails touch table/material surface

• Keep fingers away from cut path

• Apply firm pressure down on material to prevent slipping

• Take multiple shallow passes

  • 3 easy cuts in foam board and cardboard: first layer, middle layer, bottom layer
