Bio
Welcome Musicians! I look forward to meeting all my new students/families this year. Here is a short Bio to get to know me a bit..
My name is Mrs. Derby and this is my 15th year teaching, and 7th year in the Larkspur- Corte Madera School District. I love my job and feel grateful to being doing something that I love. My favorite part, is getting to watch my students begin in Kindergarten and flourish in their creativity and skills as they continue up through 5th grade. I had the pleasure of beginning with the first class at Cove School upon opening in 2014, and sending these students off to Middle School last June! It was a pleasure to teach them and to see them grow these past 6 years. I have two daughters, and my oldest daughter was among this class.
I also have a 4th grader at the Cove School this year. My husband, Mr. Derby, is the Music Teacher & Band Director over at Hall Middle School. He is also a professional Jazz Saxophonist and Pianist and just released his first album of originals this year!

I am a vocalist and a pianist, and I enjoy singing and playing on my worship team at Church, for private events, as well as performing out in the Community with Jeff Derby's Jazz group.
I love spending time with Family and Friends and my favorite places to visit are Disneyland, Lake Tahoe, and the island of Kauai.
