Steps to creating an account and subscribing for important SMS text notifications.
Here is a downloadable .pdf of the below instructions, screenshots included if needed.
Click “Create an Account” and a pop-up box will appear.
You must use the same email address that you received this invitation. This is the email that the school has on file for you and will be connected to your student. You can create additional accounts if you wish, but your primary account needs to match the email address that was used for this invitation.
Once you have created a password, check “I’m not a robot” and click SUBMIT
Check your email.
You will receive an email from londonchristian_noreply@mybusplanner.ca that says "PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR EMAIL BY CLICKING THE LINK BELOW"
In this email message, click “Confirm email link” and you will be redirected to our BusPlanner Parent Portal website. A notice that your email and account has been confirmed will appear that says "THANK YOU FOR CONFIRMING YOUR NEW ACCOUNT. YOU CAN NOW SIGN IN TO MANAGE STUDENT INFORMATION AND ALERT SUBSCRIPTIONS. Log In".
From the notice on the website, click “Log In” to return to the Parent Portal log in screen.
Using the email and password you have just created, LOG IN to BusPlanner.
You will see two sets of pick up/drop off locations for your student(s). One will be their regular route stop/time and the other will be clearly labeled ALT_LCES
From the Parent Portal go to PARENT > MY ACCOUNT > EMAIL
You can see here that you are automatically added to email alerts. We know from experience that emails are not as useful as SMS.
It is critical that ALL parents subscribe to SMS notifications in order to be sure they are receiving real-time notifications of delays and cancellations.
Click “Mobile Numbers”
Check the “I want to received text alerts” box
Add the mobile phone numbers that you wish to receive SMS
You must click “UPDATE” in order for the number(s) to be stored. You will know you have added your number successfully when you see the "SMS SETTINGS SAVED SUCCESSFULLY" message on the web page.
