CSULB Traditional Scholarships
- 25 scholarships (each school)
- 2.0 min GPA
- must reside in LB, Lakewood, or Signal Hill
- must maintain 2.0 and be enrolled in 12 units+ (4 classes) per semester
- must have been accepted to CSULB at the time of application
LBCC Traditional Scholarships
- 25 scholarships (each school)
- 2.0 min GPA
- must reside in LB, Lakewood, or Signal Hill
- must maintain 2.0 and be enrolled in 12 units+ (4 classes) per semester
Cochran Family Scholarship ($4500 over several semesters)
open to those who live in North or West LB - Zip Codes 90805 and 90810) who plan to attend LBCC in the Fall
Must maintain 2.0 GPA
Must be enrolled in 12 units per semester (4 classes)
$750/sem (renewable each semester after the first year; transferrable to CSULB at $1500 per sem for up to 4 sems)
4. Lucas Scholarship (one for LBCC - $2000 - and one for CSULB - $3000)
Must be planning to attend the school you are applying to (CSULB/LBCC) in the Fall
Must major in art, graphic design, or health/medical field
May apply for BOTH Rotary Traditional Scholarship and this one
2.0 min GPA
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Doherty Scholarship ($5000)
2.0 min GPA
Must have been admitted into and planning to attend CSULB AND participated in performing arts (theater, music) in HS with an interest in pursuing performing arts in college
2. Schneider Family Scholarship ($15,000)
Must have a learning difference (dyslexia, autism, ADHD, et al)
2.0 min GPA to apply
must be planning to attend CSULB
must maintain 2.0 and be enrolled in 12 units+ (4 classes) per semester)
Essay required (addressing learning difference and goals)
The Association of Long Beach Educational Managers and Confidential Employees (ALBEM) will award a $1000 Scholarship to 1 student at EPHS and 1 student at Reid.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be a current graduating senior from a LBUSD high school.
Must show proof of acceptance from an accredited community college or four-year university.
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
Submission Requirements
Must electronically submit application by April 2, 2026
Personal Statement (500 words or less)
Proof of acceptance to an accredited community college or four-year university.
Two letters of recommendation.
Official Transcript.
Scholarship winners will be notified via email on April 15, 2026.
May 5th, 2026, ALBEM Scholarship Ceremony at McBride High School from 5:00-7:00 pm
