WHAT IS THE LONG BEACH COLLEGE PROMISE?
This is a promise to help all Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) students go to college with financial help and pathway assistance (for both Long Beach City College and Cal State Long Beach).
This promise will help students go to college by receiving support from pre-K to college and all throughout their careers and lives.
Their goal is to help all LBUSD students achieve a college degree.
WHAT IS LB PROMISE'S MISSION?
Their mission is to help students in the Long Beach area go to and plan on attending college. This helps students who are planning to go to incoming first-years and transfer LBCC or CSULB students.
This promise is open to all students who are graduates of LBUSD.
Students who are interested in LBCC will receive free tuition for two years.
Interested students must opt-in based on the 12 majors designated by the Promise 2.0 program.
Must enroll at LBCC directly following graduation from a LBUSD high school
Be first-time college students
Enroll in at least 12 units at LBCC per semester
Apply to FAFSA or CA Dream Act
Must be a CA resident
Complete the participation agreement
*Note: LB College Promise admits students in the Fall semester only.*
HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE LONG BEACH PROMISE?
If the student has a social security number, then the student must complete the FAFSA. If the student does not have a social security number, they must file for the Dream Act.
Next, students must enroll at LBCC after graduating from high school.
Students must enroll in at least 12 units at LBCC per semester and be attending college for the first time.
Students must complete the Participation Agreement.

Enter your log-in credentials (you will receive ID after you have applied to LBCC)
Once logged in, go to your Student Center page
Under LBCC Important Information, you will see the link called Participation Agreement
Select Participation Agreement and click View
Read and submit the agreement
