You are encouraged to have a conversation with your elementary school resource team;
When visiting a potential high school, it is recommended that you reach out to the resource team to discuss questions you may have concerning your child's needs;
If your child is transitioning within schools of the Lester B. Pearson School Board, your child's information will be transferred to the chosen High School;
A sharing of information meeting between the elementary school resource team and the high school resource team will take place to facilitate the transition of your child.
Every school board shall establish an advisory committee on services for handicapped students and students with social maladjustments or learning disabilities. The role of the Special Needs Advisory Committee is to:
• Advise the school board on a policy for the organization of educational services for students with special needs
• Advise on the allocation of financial resources for the provision of services intended for these students
While SNAC does not deal with individual issues, parents/guardians of children with special needs are welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Visit the LBPSB SNAC HERE.
