The Endeavour Social Integration Program at Place Cartier and PACC Adult Centre's satellite Social Integration Programs provide adult learners with ID, ASD, or PD with specialized programming to help each individual become more independent in their lives in inclusive settings.
LBPSB offers 2-3 year SVI work preparation programs leading to certification in a semi skilled trade at PACC Adult Centre in Lasalle (SEED Program) and Place Cartier in Beaconsfield (Thrive Program).
Contact Program in Lachine and Filion School in Ville St. Laurent provide a safe, bilingual environment in which students practice their social and daily living skills.
The school boards which serve the West Island and West Monteregie offer adult education programming and vocational training paths for students who have completed some high school credits. In adult education, students can work toward completing their high school diploma or earning credits to access certain trades.
Students with disabilities who wish to complete general adult education courses can apply for funding from AFE to cover the costs of everything from transport to the purchase of a personal computer. AFE can also provide funding for an Attendant or a Translator.
The CIUSSS-ODIM provides employment and day programming for adults (21+) with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder. This service is available for residents of the West Island, and includes work placements in supported environments and activity-based day-programs. Individuals with a file with CROM can reach out to the Guichet D'Access. Individuals who do not have a file must contact their local CLSC.
The CISSSMO provides specialized and specific services to adults with disabilities in the Monteregie West region (from Chateauguay, to Vaudreuil, to Rigaud). These services include supported employment and day programs. Reach out to your local CLSC to find out how to access these programs.
