Our Second Unit will involve creating a Radio Drama. Students will be given scripts and work in groups to record a radio drama with sound effects that will be shared with the class.

Learning Objectives:

  • Making artistic choices for sound effects
  • Collaborating as a team to perform a radio drama
  • Apply technical design using digital sound effects and sound editing tools to record a final performance
  • Using the actor's tool of voice to portray specific identifiable characters for the audience
  • Using sound effects to convey mood and emotion

Our First Unit in Theatre Arts is DIRECTING.

We will focus on:

  • Defining the parts of the stage (downstage, upstage, centerstage)
  • Types of stage movements (entrances, exits, crosses)
  • Rules for stage movement (cheating out, avoiding standing in a line or semi-circle, balancing the stage)
  • Creating a stage picture
