November:

For our last unit will explore the comedic One Act Play 13 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview. We will read it as a class and then allow students to choose parts. If two performers want the same part, I will have a cold reading and choose the student who best fits the part. I will also be looking for a student director from each class to help with blocking and work with the actors on their voice and movement. We will rehearse the One Act in class and perform for other FA classes at the end of the trimester.

At the end of the trimester I am asking each of you to take a survey about your performance standards progress.

October:

It's Duet Scene Time! Each performer will fill out a goal setting plan for their duet scene in the Google Classroom. Attached is also the rubric that I will assess you on. As partners, complete the character analysis together.

September:

Our second unit will focus on the actor's tool of Voice. We will be exploring using different vocal elements to portray a given character motivation, such as "to impress."

Our first unit will focus on the actor's tool of Body. We will be exploring pantomime, stage business, stage directions and movement.

Advanced Acting Google Classroom Code: mkgg0y1

Our first performance will be using stage business and pantomime. Each pair of students will receive two random pieces of stage business, such as playing checkers and finding a radio station, that they must put together into a pantomimed scene with a beginning, middle, and end.

Pantomime with Stage Business Rubric

Our second performance involves groups creating a pantomime around a central conflict. The scene should be 2-3 minutes in length and will use the secondary tools of music and props to convey the storyline.
