AR Sandbox

The Augmented Reality (AR) Sandbox is an interactive sandbox that utilizes computer programming designed by researchers at UC Davis, an Xbox Kinect, and a projector. The system projects the lines of a contour map as well as rain and water onto the sand in the sandbox. As the sand is moved to create new topography, the contour lines instantly change to meet the changing landscape. The sandbox can be used for a variety of lessons to help increase student interest and comprehension.
