What we expect from you:
Actively support the ethos and policies of the School
A willingness to do your best at all times
Punctual attendance at all lessons, self-study periods, tutor times and assemblies
Courtesy to staff and fellow students at all times
Prompt completion of all assignments by the given deadlines and to a high standard
Participation in the broader life of the school, such as mentoring younger students in your tutor group, leadership challenges and a range of extra-curricular activities
Attendance must be maintained at 100% for all registrations and lessons unless there are genuine reasons for absence. If your attendance record causes concern, you and your parents will be invited into School to discuss this matter.
Holidays are not to be taken during term time and in accordance with new legislation generally cannot be authorised.
You should arrange medical and dental appointments out of school hours. Obviously hospital appointments are an exception to this.
No driving lessons or theory tests should be taken during the school day. Please inform the Sixth Form office of practical driving test times which fall during the school day
If you are going to be absent for any reason you should contact the school on each day of absence before 9.30 am. If no notification is received written confirmation from a parent / carer will be required on your return to school. For repeated absences, parents / carers will be asked to provide written confirmation of the reason
You should follow the school dress code at all times. This includes coming in to do exams, visiting a member of staff during study leave and taking part in inter-school games. Art students will not be allowed in the Sixth Form Centre inappropriately dressed. We appreciate that a change of clothes may be necessary when studying practical subjects but these must only be worn in the relevant areas and not around school
We operate a no smoking (including e-cigarettes), no alcohol and no drugs policy in the Sixth Form which also encompasses any school trips in or out of school hours
Further information is in the Sixth Form Handbook. You are advised not to sign this agreement until you have read the Handbook thoroughly

If you do not meet the above student expectations you can expect the following systems to be put into operation:
For subject specific concerns, namely missing deadlines or not completing work to an acceptable standard, the sanction procedures is as follows:
A subject teacher sanction
A subject leader sanction
An after school detention with a senior leader. Parents will be informed of this by email
A meeting with The Head of Sixth Form, Mr Bedgood. Parents may be invited to attend
For pastoral concerns
You will have a meeting with a member of the Sixth Form pastoral team.
For serious matters a student will be referred immediately to the Head of Sixth Form.
There are occasions when you may visit other venues; when taking part in enrichment subjects, Young Enterprise and sport, for example. At these times you are expected to take responsibility for your own well-being and behave in an appropriate manner. Remember that you are an ambassador for the School and as such should represent yourself and the School in a positive light.
