The problem is the negative connotation that social media can present amongst the community and the world. Although in some cases this is deemed true, social media can honestly be beneficial and provide many engaging new ways of learning more, expanding knowledge, and building new relationships. There are many social media applications that foster positivity, meaningful connections, and social networking with others of similar interests or hobbies.Â
In this paper and website, it will be showcased how social media can be a great tool for individuals, specifically in elementary classrooms, to provide new and unique ways of learning to engage and improve achievement both inside and outside of the classroom. Social media can be incorporated into elementary classrooms in effective ways that are not harmful to students and can help improve engagement for students along with helpful tools for their future in this 21st century world. This can help improve the negative connotation included with social media as it can be an outstanding way to provide unique learning opportunities for students to learn and grow as individuals.
