We are StudentsBuild Wolfpack (GirlsBuild), a student-led group focused on raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. Our goal this year is to break the stigma around mental illness and create a safe, supportive space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and asking for help. With support from LA Promise Fund, we’re working to build a more open and compassionate school community.
-Our Key Goals-
Hosting a Virtual Mental Health Assembly: Bringing together students, staff, mental health professionals, and guest speakers to encourage open conversations.
Partner with Mental Health Organizations Collaborating with groups like SanaMente and Each Mind Matters to expand resources and support.
Work with Local Leaders: Partnering with the City of Maywood to promote mental health awareness in our community.
Through these efforts, we aim to spread hope, build resilience, and make a real impact both at school and beyond.
Mental health is often misunderstood, and too many people struggle in silence. At StudentsBuild, we’re working to change that.
We focus on creating a welcoming space where it’s okay to talk about mental health, share experiences, and seek support. Our mission is simple: raise awareness, connect people to helpful resources, and remind everyone they’re not alone.
SudentsBuild LA is a program that empowers girls in Los Angeles County public schools to become leaders and changemakers. Participants identify real issues in their communities and design projects to address them.
Through leadership, creativity, and teamwork, students gain the skills and confidence to make lasting change.
