Students in 8th Grade U.S. History class have created multimedia presentations of the pre-Civil War period. The early 1800s in the United States was a time of rapid and expansive growth, with California becoming the 31st state in 1850. This growth came with great difficulty, especially displaced Native Americans and those who endured the Mexican-American war. Students studied their assigned topic and created slideshows and videos to present.
