Learning Target Assessments
Goal: Earn a 3 (Proficiency) or a 4 (Mastery) on each of the learning targets.
Each assessment is based on the standards connected to that Learning Target (LT). Students will have the opportunity to retake all required assessments to show mastery after completing additional work (see retake requirements). Your proficiency levels is determined by examining your scores for each learning target with an emphasis on the most recent and/or consistent scores.
Grading is based on concepts learned and mastered. Grades will be based on a Summative Assessment(s) given for each Learning Target.

Class work
Homework
Activities
Any other graded work done in class that isn’t an assessment.
Goal: Show that you are willing to complete as much practice as needed to do well on your assessments. For this reason I do not accept late work for practice assignments unless it is listed under the accommodations for a student's IEP.
Since the work you do for practice will not hurt your academic grade if you get the wrong answer or complete the work incorrectly, it's safe to take chances and try your best. As long as it shows that you tried your best to complete the assignment, you will receive full credit towards your work habits grade.

Goal: Show that you respect others in your classroom, ask questions, share your thinking, and be in class on time and ready to learn.
I strive to earn your respect, but I expect the same in return. Please respect everyone in your class--teacher and fellow students alike. If there is something happening in your life that is impacting your ability to be at your best in class, I am always here to help. It's important for you to get to class on time.
