Children who are supported by schools, families, and community groups tend to perform better in school, stay in school for longer, and enjoy school more. Parent and Community Engagement Unit supports school efforts to implement family engagement activities that prioritize partnerships with parents for the benefit of children's learning and achievement.
Parent Center Staff
Boosting parent and family engagement
The Parent Center Staff personnel are usually members of the community, who are responsible for operating the Parent Center at a school site. They aim to boost parent and family engagement by providing educational opportunities, as well as recruiting parent and community volunteers. They also serve as an adviser/consultant to the school administrator on matters regarding parental involvement and the community.
