SERVICE AS ACTION
Service as Action is a required component of the IBMYP which supports Eagle Rock Junior Senior High School’s aim to be a school committed to develop internationally minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet. Service and Action activities can take a wide variety of forms, including, attending community clean-ups, working with the Pasadena Humane Society or helping with school events. Service and Action helps students connect what is learned in school with the real world. During an academic year, students are to complete two Service as Action activities. One activity must be completed in school, and the second activity must be completed off-campus. The end results are lifelong memorable and treasured experiences that help students understand the needs of our world. These activities are instrumental in the development of the 10th grade personal project.
