LJMS
Laurissa Jane Music Performing Arts Program (LJMS) is a dedicated institution committed to providing students with a strong foundation in music and the arts. Proudly serving the vibrant communities of Southeast Jamaica Queens, St. Albans, Hollis, Queens Village, and Cambria Heights, LJMS delivers high-quality instruction that inspires creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Led by a team of experienced teaching artists, LJMS offers both private and group instruction in piano, voice, guitar, bass, and drums for students of all ages and skill levels. To ensure accessibility and flexibility, we also offer high-quality online classes, allowing students to engage in meaningful music and arts instruction from anywhere.
LJMS also presents an exceptional Musical Theatre Summer Arts Program, providing a dynamic and imaginative space where young performers develop skills in acting, singing, movement, and stagecraft while collaborating as an ensemble and gaining meaningful performance experience.
At LJMS, our mission is to empower every student to thrive—embracing creativity, building confidence, and discovering their full artistic potential within an engaged, inclusive, and nurturing community.
Albert Einstein: "I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music."
At Laurissa Jane Music, we take great pride in uplifting and empowering our community through meaningful programs and initiatives. Deeply rooted in Southeast Jamaica Queens, our school is committed to creating a lasting and positive impact through arts education for learners of all ages.
We believe every child and adult deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, discipline, and confidence that music provides—regardless of financial circumstances. For this reason, we are dedicated to offering affordable, accessible music education for students of all ages, along with scholarship opportunities for families who may not otherwise be able to participate.
Through these efforts, Laurissa Jane Music strives to nurture creativity across generations, strengthen community connections, and inspire the next generation of young artists while supporting lifelong learning through the arts.
