Students, families and staff at Hayesbrook Academy are celebrating excellent GCSE results this year. Overall, 67% of pupils achieved the benchmark of a 4+ in English and maths and 42% of pupils achieved 5+ in English and maths.
Michael Crow, Principal commented, “We are absolutely thrilled for our students who have achieved some outstanding results in a year when grade boundaries have risen so significantly. The results are testament to their efforts and we couldn’t be prouder of them!”
With excellent results for the academy there are a number of stand out grades, including 15% of all grades above a grade 7 across a number of subjects. Students who study vocational subjects performed equally well with 49% of pupils achieving at least a Distinction in business and 37% in sport. We recognise all of the pupils and their results in this figure including some of our top performers listed below:
Alex: Grades 9 and 8 in science, 2 grade 8s in geography and history, a grade 7 in maths, 2 grade 6s in English language and English literature and a Merit in music;
Ben: 2 grade 9s in science, 8 in maths, 2 grade 7s in English literature and computer science, 6 in English language, a grade 4 in art and a Distinction* in business;
Xavier: Grades 8 and 7 in science, 4 grade 7s in maths, history, food and geography and 2 grade 6s in English language and English literature;
Aaron: 3 grade 8s in science and maths, 3 grade 6s in geography, English language and food, a 5 in English literature and a Distinction in business;
Matthew: Grade 8 in food, 2 grade 7s in maths and English literature, grades 7 and 6 in science, grades 5 in English language and geography and a Distinction in business;
Will: Grade 8 in food, 7 in Spanish, 6 in geography, 4 grade 5s in maths, English literature and English language and grades 5 and 4 in science;
David: 5 grade 8s in science, maths, computer science and history, grade 7 in English literature and 2 grade 6s in English language and geography;
Oliver: 2 grade 7s in maths and geography with grades 7 and 6 in science, 2 grade 5s in English language and English literature, grade 4 in computer science and a Distinction in business;
Isaac: Grade 7 in maths and 7 and 6 in science, grade 6s in English language and English literature, 2 grade 5s in geography and DT and a grade 4 in art;
Archie: 4 grade 7s in maths, geography and science, a grade 6 in English language, 2 grade 5s in English literature and computer science and a Distinction in business;
Ben: Grade 8 in food, 2 grade 7s in science, 6 in English language, 2 grade 5s in maths and English literature and a 4 in history;
Matthew: Grade 7 in computer science, grades 7 and 6 in science, 2 grade 6s in maths and geography and 3 grade 5s in history, English language and English literature; and
Scott: 3 grade 7s in science and maths, 2 grade 6s in geography and food, 2 grade 5s in English language and literature and a Distinction in business.
