SANCHO COLLEGE

As we approach the Christmas break, there is a lot to celebrate from the first two modules of this academic year.

Celebration Breakfast

As is customary each module, the Sancho celebration took place with students that had been nominated by their form tutor for showing the LAB values instinctively throughout the module. Those invited enjoyed breakfast treats as well as the honour of decorating the Sancho plaza with Christmas decorations. The students that were invited to attend were

7B Daisy, 7E Inka K, 8B Sriya, 8E Jackson, 9B Alfie, 9E Faith, 10B Archie,10E Lois, 11E Kehinde & 11B Kayden Brack-Wright.

Y11 Mock assessments

The Y11 cohort have recently finished a two week Mock assessment cycle that mirrored the format and conditions of the external examinations that will be sat in Summer 2023. It was amazing to see the hard work and resilience that students showed during this time. I look forward to students finding out their grades from these and gaining the feedback they need to reach their potential in the Summer.

Ice Skating Trip

All students that had zero unauthorised absences in the past two weeks were awarded with a trip to ice skating at Greenwich Park. It was amazing to see 22 Sancho students having the privilege to attend this trip. Well done to them all!

Attendance and Uniform during cold weather

Although the temperature has recently dropped below zero, a large number of Sancho students have persevered in ensuring they attend school each day to maximise their learning time. For the return in the new year, it's a good time to remind you of the Academy uniform policy, including what can be worn on PE days in the cold weather. Please find the full list here.

Individual recognition

It is always important to recognise the individual effort that students put in consistently to ensure they are maximising their potential. As you know, our merits are awarded for showing the LAB values without prompting. The students below have been awarded the most merits in Module 1 and 2:

7B = Henry

7E = Linara

8B = Sriya

8E = Kadiatou

9B = Shekinah

9E = Chloe

10B = Parya

10E = Damien

11B = Nathan

11E = Lesya

During the final Sancho assembly, I will be handing out specific certificates in recognition of students' dedication this Module. Please congratulate your child if they receive one of these.

From the whole Sancho team, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope it is restful for you and your child and we look forward to welcoming them back on 5th January.
