Theme: How The World Works


This term, we will be looking at scientific observations of the Earth can create curiosity and lead to new discoveries.

Term 4- Knowledge Organisers

In Inquiry this term we have been looking at the history of medicine; we created the timeline as a table. Additionally, we have looked at two famous scientists; Edward Jenner and Joseph Lister. We wrote a detailed biography all about Joseph Lister and the changes he made to medicine and we wrote a diary entry from the perspective of Edward Jenner discovering that his vaccine for smallpox worked.

Term 4 - Inquiry

In art this term we have been looking at sculptures. We have identified that there are many different types of materials to create a sculpture and different artists within those fields. In lesson 2 we looked at paper and the different techniques that would be used to create a sculpture. 

In this term we have been looking at medicine and how it has progressed overtime. Within art we made antigen cells to cure diseases such as: parkinson's, cancer and alzheimer's.

In DT we are making our own cushions with an applique design on it. We practised many stitches but one in particular was the blanket stitch. The children did so well with understanding the skill and the perseverance shown to never give up even when it was hard.

Here are our appliqued cushions! We are so proud of what we created and they all have turned out just as we envisioned it to be.
