Megan Tholen

Hi! I'm Megan Tholen and I'm the new Music Specialist at Chamisa. I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT, but have spent my adult life in AZ, MO, MD, CO, ID, and now NM. I am married with 3 children and a dog, love the movie Back to the Future, and have a house full of Lego and Marvel fans.

I hold Bachelors and Masters degrees in Flute Performance and have spent the last 20+ years as a private flute/piano teacher, accompanist, and freelance flutist. During that time, I also held positions as a 6-8 General Music teacher, 6-8 Project Design teacher, and as a SPED paraprofessional PK-6.

In addition to my regular classes, I sponsor the Chamisa SingSations (grades 4-6), Chamisa ChimeRingers (6th), and provide Music Enrichment classes on Wednesdays. Supporting children in all facets of learning excites me, and I'm delighted to be able to share my love of music with the students of Chamisa. All are Welcome in my classroom.
