I grew up in Texas but our family was in Colorado. so, we moved back when I was a senior in high school. I went from a high school class of around 800 to a small town in eastern Colorado with a graduating class of 8! I attended college at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. After graduation, I moved to Japan where I taught English for 2.5 years. I learned that I loved teaching while in Japan! So, I went back to college at Metro State in Denver to get my elementary teaching degree with a minor in reading. This is my 15th year teaching at Chamisa!

I have taught 1st and 2nd grades. My twins, Seth and Ella, attended school here for 7 years and loved it. They are in high school now. My husband has his doctorate in metallurgical engineering and has been working at the lab for over 20 years now. I enjoy the outdoors, travel, reading and hanging out with family and friends in my spare time.
