Stephanie Martiez, 6th
My name is Stephanie Martinez I was born and raised in the Espanola Valley. I graduated from Espanola Valley High School and went on to pursue my degree in Elementary Education from the College of Santa Fe. Upon graduating with my bachelor’s degree, I began teaching 2nd grade at Pablo Roybal Elementary School in Pojoaque, NM. I taught 2nd grade for five years and had the opportunity to “loop” with my 2nd graders to 3 d grade (which was one of the best opportunities I’ve had!). I continued to teach 3rd grade for 15 years. In August of 2018, I joined the Barranca Mesa family. I am now teaching 6th Grade Math and absolutely love this age group!
I also have a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from New Mexico Highlands University. While educational leadership is something that interests me, I absolutely love working with students in the classroom.
My husband, Harold, and I have 3 children: Marcos, Mia, and Mallana. We enjoy camping and being outdoors in the summer. We have an English Bulldog named Diesel, a French Bulldog named Gus (who are VERY spoiled) and two cats named Alan and Tiggy.
