Larbert High is one of the largest schools in Scotland. With over 2000 pupils things can seem a little confusing at first! Here’s some information to help you as you begin your journey
A
A Block - This is the block of classrooms at the reception entrance. In here you will find Languages, English and the Year Teams.
Assemblies - We will have a number of these each term. It's a great change to get together as a year group.
B
Bleachers - Our amazing new seating in the Plaza
C
The Capital - Our brand new social space beside the pupil entrance
Capital Coffee - Our pupil-run coffee shop
C Block - This is the block of classrooms at the back of the school, facing the Carron Dams. In here you will find Technologies, Maths, Science and FCT.
Cardio Room - Located in PE, near the year team corridor. This room contains Cardio equipment for use in PE.
D
The Dams - This is the tree covered area directly behind the school.
D Block - This is the block of classrooms that sits at the right hand side of the school. In here you will find English, Humanities and The Library. The S1 Year Team is also here.
The Diner - One of our quieter spaces at break and lunchtime.
E
E Block. This is the block of classrooms off The Capital. In here you will find Expressive Arts, as well as Gym 3 and the Weights Room. We share E Block with the Thistle Wing Annexe, Kinnaird Primary.
English and Media - This faculty contains the subjects of English and Media. You will find them in A block.
Expressive Arts - This faculty contains the subjects of Art, Music and Drama. You will find them in E block.
Extra-Curricular - These are clubs you can join before school, at lunch and after school. There are sport and non-sporting clubs.
F
Faculties- This is the term we use to describe a group of departments. For example, Art, Drama and Music make up our Expressive Arts Faculty.
Food - The canteen has a great range of snacks and meals or you can bring a packed lunch. You will eventually be allowed to 'go up the street' at lunchtime, but not straight away.

Games Hall - This is the largest sports hall. Turn left at Gym 1 and go through the double doors.
Gym 1 and Gym 2 - These are our smaller halls, both located on the main corridor between the Max and the main building.

The Hub - The hub, found in the Plaza, is where you can buy food at break and lunch time.
Hub Card - Your Hub Card is how you pay for food. You can load money on this at school via machines located throughout the school, OR you can top it up online.
Humanities - This Faculty contains the subject of Modern Studies, Geography, History and RME. You will find them in D block.
Health and Wellbeing - This Faculty contains the subjects of PE and FCT. You will find FCT in C block.
I
Indoor Changing - This is where you get changed if your class are inside for PE. They are located on the main corridor between the Max and the main building, between Gym 1 and Gym 2.

Janitors - Our janitors and cleaners work so hard to keep our school environment a lovely place to be. Help them by being tidy and respectful of your surroundings.

Be Kind - This makes school a great place for us all to be.

The Link - This is the glass corridor between C Block and A Block.
The Library - We have a fantastically stocked library that we hope you make great use of!
Lecture Theatre - A great space for performing and meeting. It's in E Block.

Modern Languages - This faculty contains the subjects of Spanish, French, German and Italian. You will find them in A Block.
N
Negative Referral - Your teacher will give you a negative referral if you act in a way that doesn't meet our expectations of you. This is emailed home instantly.
O
Outdoor Changing Room - This is the changing rooms at the ‘Sports Entrance’. You should use these changing rooms if your class is outside for PE.
P
The Plaza - our brand new multi purpose space beside the Pupil Entrance. This is where you can spend lunch and break, will have assemblies and maybe PE. Also our performance space.
Positive Referral - Your teacher will award you a positive referral if you show excellent effort or attitude in class. This is emailed home instantly.
PC Millar - Our School based police officer. You will find him out at break, lunch and after school. He is based in D block.
Pupil Support Teacher - Your Pupil Support Teacher is your main point of contact for any issues you have at LHS. You will find them in the Year Team Base.
Pump Track - This is the cycle area down the hill at the front of the school.
Q
The Quad - This is the social concrete area in the middle of the A,C and D Block. You can use this area at break and lunch time.
R
Rector - This is another word for Head Teacher. Our Rector is Mr Reid
Reports - Your teachers will complete reports which will be shared with your parents.
Rock and Pop - One of our Academies! Can you name the rest???
S
Set-up - Our one stop shop for all of your uniform or school essential requirements
Spin Room - You may use this room for PE - it contains Spin Bikes and a projector. It is located near the Games Hall.
The Summit -This is located in E block. Go through the Max and through the door under the E block stairs. You'll find the climbing wall here.
The Study - a quiet space for supported learning.
T
Targeted Support - Found in E Block, this space is used to support learning.
Technologies - This Faculty contains the subjects of Technical, Computing and Business. You will find them in C block.
Tryst Sports - This is our community sports hub. You can find our Head of Sport Andy Thompson in the PE base.
U
Uniform - Wearing your school uniform helps you stand out as a pupil of Larbert High. It's really important you were your full uniform, including blazer, every day.
V
Very big - we are the largest non-denominational school in Scotland. This means we have lots of staff offering lots of exciting and interesting experiences.
W
Weights Room - This is located in E block, and is accessed through Gym 3.

Year Team Base - This is where your Pupil Support Teacher is based. You will find them on the ground floor in D Block.

Zillion - There may still feel like there are a zillion things you need to know. Don't worry there will be so many pupils and staff here to help you.
