Hello and welcome to our page for Geography at Larbert High!
We offer resources for Geography at two different levels, National 5 and Higher. You can find both levels below with relevant course information.
The National 5 Geography exam is split into two different sections.
Section one features an 80 mark paper completed under exam conditions in 2 hours 20 minutes. This paper is worth 80% of the overall grade and covers a range of topics.
Section two is an assignment which is worth 20% of the final grade. Pupils will start with an open choice of a geographical question or issue, complete 8 hours of research and then finish off with a 1 hour long write up under exam conditions.
The Higher Geography exam is split into three different sections.
Question Paper 1 is completed under timed exam conditions, lasting 110 minutes and worth 100 marks. The topics are physical and human environments.
Question Paper 2 is worth 60 marks and completed under timed exam conditions lasting 70 minutes. The topics are global issues and geographical skills.
The final section is an assignment. This is worth 30 marks and following 8 hours of research there is a 90 minute assessment completed in class under exam conditions.
