Sunday, March 29th
Dear LAPCMS 7th Grade Students and Families,
This week we are moving to a different learning format. Attending classes on Zoom still is encouraged, but we also recognize that students may need to do assignments outside of those hours. We 7th Grade teachers are maintaining the same schedule that we established last week, but those times are to be considered as office hours for students to stop by and ask questions/receive guidance about the week's assignments.
Here is the agenda/list of assignments for science this week:
For more information, including news articles and videos also assigned, please refer to Google Classroom and look at the COVID-19 slides I posted.
Reminder -- there is no school on Friday the 3rd in honor of Cesar Chavez! Also, April 6-10 is Spring Break!
See you online,
Ms. Perna
Sunday 3/22
Hello LAPCMS 7th Grade Students and Families,
For this second week of distance learning, do not forget to finish what I assigned last week on STEMScopes. In addition, we are beginning a project on the new coronavirus. This is all grade levels at both our middle school and our high school. We have a special guest joining us for a Zoom session on Tuesday the 24th at 3pm -- a doctor working in a hospital right here in L.A. He will be answering any questions you have; all LAPCMS and LAPCHS science teachers will be on the video call. It is truly a great opportunity for our school community to connect with a doctor working on the front lines.
In order to attend the COVID-19 chat with our local emergency room doctor, students MUST complete prior coursework on the topic. For details, please see Google Classroom and be sure to attend class through the Zoom links posted there. Those links are only valid at the designated times. If you cannot get online then, please email me at brendap@lapromisefund.org to make sure that you have the instructions you need in order to complete the entrance ticket for our COVID-19 chat.
My class schedule for the week is as follows:
Monday 3/23:
Tuesday 3/24:
Wednesday 3/25:
Thursday 3/26:
Friday 3/27:
See you online,
Ms. Perna
Well, here we are virtually! Below are the list of assignments that are available to you this week on STEMScopes. We are exploring chemical reactions more deeply by focusing on thermal energy.
I will go over these assignments via Zoom tomorrow 3/17 (links posted in Google Classroom...each period has a unique Zoom link). Don't feel like you have to do all of them in one day; pace yourself.
Tomorrow (TUESDAY 3/17), I will check in for 30-45 minutes with ALL PERIODS (times should not conflict with your other classes). The schedule is as follows:
Again, the links for all Zoom classes are on Google Classroom. See you soon!
Ms. Perna
