Principal's Message:

Thank you to all of the parents who attended our Parents' Evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. It was wonderful to see our community celebrating the progress and learning of our children and it is such a valuable chance for parents to find out how well their children are doing and what they are learning about. I would also like to extend my thanks to the families who took the time to complete our parent surveys whilst visiting us. The responses were overwhelmingly positive and certainly provided a much needed boost to the team as they are working so hard for each and every pupil.

We continue to run our Coffee and Conversation opportunities for each year group. Uptake is sporadic at the moment but we will continue to provide these opportunities so that we can work constructively together. These sessions will continue throughout the academic year so please keep an eye on the relevant dates should you wish to attend.

Our Charity Tuesdays are now gaining momentum with the following fundraising events happening -

Tuesday 28th March - Alba, in Year 3, is raising money for Fetcher Dog, a dog charity that rescues dogs from all over Europe. Her dog, Marty, was rescued by this charity. Alba will be doing a lucky dip at pick up on this date, full of fidget toys and slap bands which will be £1 per turn. She will also be doing a raffle to win a bottle of Prime with the draw happening at the end of the day.

The finer details for future Charity Tuesdays will be shared nearer the time but the dates are confirmed as;

Tuesday 2nd May - Madison, in Year 5, will be raising money for RNID, a national hearing loss charity.

Tuesday 6th June - Freya, in Year 5, will be raising money for Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Miss Brading

Office Reminders:

A gentle reminder that any pupil absences must be reported to the academy office and not the class teacher.

There are a number of ways that you can communicate with the academy to report your child absent. These are:

Please ensure that, however you communicate your child's absence to us, you provide your child's full name, their class and a reason for their absence. If a reason is not provided, we are unable to record your child's absence as anything other than unauthorised.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs McRobb, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.

National Online Safety Guide

According to a Google survey, more than half of us - 52% to be exact - routinely re-use the same passwords, with around one in ten of us employing a single password across all of their online accounts. What that means, of course, is that any hacker who is able to successfully crack a password to one online account would find themselves able to access multiple online accounts. This common issue, along with the fact that many people's favourite passwords aren't exactly impenetrable, makes it considerably easier to see why some sources put the number of online accounts being broken into at around 100 per second!

To help to give you some extra peace of mind about your digital data, the below guide has some useful tips on setting stronger, more secure passwords including how to get creative with this, what to avoid and the value of multi-factor authentication.
