Principal's Message:

The last term of the academic year is now well underway.

We had a wonderful guitar assembly on Wednesday during which our talented musicians performed for their peers.

We ended the week with a fabulous Fun Run for the Heart of Kent Hospice. As you know, we have decorated our very own Shaun the Sheep to be part of a trail around Maidstone and a big part of being involved is to raise money. I am pleased to share that we have so far raised a total of £1557 for this wonderful cause. Bill from the charity was bowled over by the commitment to the cause our pupils and staff demonstrated by running around the school dressed as sheep no less. When one of his parting comments was that "this is a very happy school" and I couldn't agree more. Thank you to everyone who sponsored our children. Keep an eye on our social media for lots of fun photos of the afternoon!

Mrs Comins, our SENCO, has asked me to point you in the direction of our inclusion page within the newsletter as there is a parent survey and some important information relating to it.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Miss S Brading

National Online Safety Guide

Released in January 2024, Palworld took the gaming scene by storm and sold over five million copies in just three days. A new take on the survival genre - blending mechanics similar to games like Minecraft with the ability to catch and fight alongside creatures reminiscent of Pokemon - it saw plenty of coverage from games journalists and influencers alike.

However, despite its lower age rating and popularity with young gamers, Palworld has been criticized for its reliance on shock humour. The game can touch on topics including animal abuse and sweatshop labour and, as a game featuring online multiplayer, it is expected that certain safety concerns may arise.

The below guide dives into the risks of Palword and offers expert tips on how to safeguard children who simply want to enjoy the game.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.
