Pitta Bread Pizza
Ingredients
1 large pitta bread
1 tbsp tomato purée or tomato sauce
1 tsp mixed herb (pepper, salt or parsley)
1 tomato, sliced
3 toppings of your choice
50g cheese (cheddar and/or mozzarella) grated
Method:
Spread sauce on top of the pitta.
Sprinkle on the grated cheese.
Sprinkle on pinches of desired herbs and spices, and add any toppings you would like.
Place on baking sheet, bake for 5-7 minutes at 180°c/ 400° f, or until cheese is melted (times may vary).
Slice with a pizza cutter and enjoy!
This week, the children in Cookery Club created their versions of pitta bread pizza. It is a quick and easy recipe for them to make independently. They practised chopping and slicing safely with a knife.
What you need for 25th June 2024:
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
2 tablespoons sugar
Shortcakes:
1 cup plain flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
1/3 cup semi-skimmed milk
1 large egg yolk
Whipped cream:
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon sugar
Big cook, little cook
