Principal's Message:

Welcome to Term 5. We hope that you all had a wonderful Easter. The first week back has been excellent; the children have settled into learning extremely well.

With the new term, brings the temperamental and unpredictable weather. As we are now in the summer terms, children are able to wear their summer uniforms (navy gingham dress /grey shorts and grey socks with short sleeved shirts). Please be mindful of the weather, however, at this time of year as we are still experiencing, what feels like, arctic temperatures so please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately.

Unfortunately, the car park lines were not painted in the Easter holidays. While we are eagerly awaiting this to happen I respectfully ask that you use the car park appropriately. Already we are noticing quite significantly dangerous use of the are so please take note of the following -

I have indicated in the aerial image of the car park below where parents can and can not park.

Thank you in advance for your support with this.

In other, very exciting news, I am pleased to share that we will have an academy minibus arriving next week. Ours will be one of two for our cluster of LAT schools. We will be able to use these to take children to off-site activities such as football fixtures, swimming and school trips. They only have 16 seats so there may be occasions when we will need to use coaches, if a trip is for the whole year group. Despite this, the cost of these types of trips will significantly be reduced which I know will be welcomed by many of our families.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss S Brading

National Online Safety Guide

Snapchat is a photo- and video-sharing app through which users can chat with friends via text or audio. Images and videos can be shared with specific friends, or as a 'story' (documenting the previous 24 hours) which is visible to a person's entire friend list. Snapchat usage rose significantly during the lockdown periods, with many young people utilising it to stay connected with their peers. The app continues to develop features to engage an even larger audience and emulate current trends, rivalling platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

In the below guide you will find tips on avoiding potential risks such as sexting, visible location and contact from strangers.

A reminder that all of our parent/carer community are invited to create an account with National Online Safety, which provides a wide range of resources such as the guides we include in our newsletters, courses and video resources. Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.
