Transdisciplinary Learning

As part of transdisciplinary learning, children are able to learn a wide range subjects under one theme. Through this they are able to explore a wide range of skills, which can be transferred through different themes and learning opportunities. The children are able to ask questions to deepen their understanding of the world.


Transdisciplinary Skills

As mentioned, our children explore a wide range of skills that are developed throughout their learning journey. These are a set of skills which can be transferred through the themes taught. The categories of skills are:

  • Thinking skills;

  • Self-management skills ;

  • Communication skills ;

  • Social skills ;

  • Research skills .


Disciplinary Learning

Disciplinary learning is a term which refers to subject based skills, these are taught separately, but then can be integrated in a transdisciplinary way, The children may not realise we are teaching these skills in a disciplinary way as skills are learnt throughout our themes.
