From the Editor
Welcome to the first edition of 'Langley Park Press' our new school periodical produced by the 'Journalism club'.
The club, held on Mondays, gives budding journalists, photographers and influencers the chance to develop their skills in gathering, processing and communicating information effectively. Throughout the year, we will be focusing on different aspects of journalism including writing newspaper columns on school events, interviewing or researching for magazine articles and hosting news reports, podcast and videos, which will be published or linked fortnightly in the school newsletter on Friday. This week, the children practised their interviewing skills to find out what staff members got up to during the summer holidays.

I don’t often go away abroad because I have big dogs who can’t come. My husband and I went away to a place called the Norfolk Broads. We hired a boat for a week and usually the boat goes but this year while we were going down a river the boat lost all of its power so we had to call an engineer. Unfortunately he wasn't able to fix it so they had to get a recovery boat and tow our boat for nine straight hours back to the boatyard .
When we got back home, I visited family in Norway, went to the cinema, did a lot of dog walks, went to an engagement party and went out for brunch with friends a few times.
Mrs Neame
Throughout the summer holiday, I spent a lot of time with my dogs - Beau and Gus .
I went to Barcelona with some friends. We did lots of exploring together and ate a food called tapas. We also went on the hop on hop off bus tour.
We went to Park Guell and very much enjoyed the city and the beach.
Back at home, we went paddle boarding and I excitedly started my pre-season hockey training, which meant that I had to get my kit and my astros back on. I had a wonderful birthday.
Mr Monaco
I took my daughter swimming in Tunbridge and she swam with floats. It was my birthday so we hired a massive bouncy castle.
We went to Norfolk with my family. We went to the beach and played loads of games. I played golf with my mates, decorated my bathroom, went to the pub with my friends and family and watched Newcastle play a football match.
Miss Mapley
I went on holiday at the end of the summer, from the 17th-27th to Fuerteventura off the coast of North Africa. I had 10 days all inclusive. It was really hot and really windy. One day was really windy and rainy and l had all you can eat food.
Before that l did really boring stuff - I did housework, spring cleaning my whole house. After my holiday I went back to work.
Miss Philips
I moved houses this summer from Aylesford to Downswood. I went to the beach and watched lots of sunsets. I also went to Thorpe park and went on Stealth, Nemesis, Swarm and Saw. Because of the theme there were skeleton actors and one really scared me.
Mrs Swan
I went to Wales to meet up with my old boss. I then went to Gran Canaria with my teachers besties to visit our teacher friend who had moved back. We went sun bathing, toured the island and ate lots of fish. I then went to Scotland to visit family and my best friend. We went to one of the Scottish Islands and took a boat to see the seals.
Miss Gibson
I went to Norfolk. I went to the beach, went swimming, played mini golf and ate fish and chips and ice cream.
Miss Murrell
I went to Turkey. I went on two boat rides and relaxed. I had the world's biggest kebab and ate lots of food, It was very, very good.
Mr Downard
I went to Finland to see my family. At the start of the summer I went to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Wembley stadium, it was really good. At the end of the summer it was my birthday.
Mrs Barrett
I went to Turkey for my holiday. The food was amazing. When I was home, I took Barnaby (my dog) to the beach because he loves to sea and sand."
