20g unsalted butter
3 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla paste
2 tbsp caster sugar
4 tbsp plain flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
handful of sprinkles/chocolate chips (optional)
Add milk and butter to a microwaveable mug and microwave in 10 second blasts, stirring in between, until butter is melted.
Stir in vanilla and sugar, then add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat with a fork until smooth.
Stir in optional sprinkles/chocolate chips.
Place mug in the microwave and cook for 1 minute (800W). If the sponge is firm to touch, it is ready. If not, keep cooking in 10 second increments until cooked.
Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream on top or a blob of whipped cream!
This week, the children in Cookery Club made puff pastry pizza twists - yum!
