What a week it's been!
It would be remiss of me not to begin this message by recognising our incredible Year 6 pupils. As many of you will know, this week they undertook their SATs assessments. It is a significant challenge for children to demonstrate such resilience, dedication, maturity and focus at such a young age. The children truly rose to the occasion and have been a real inspiration to us all. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and are hopeful that their efforts will be reflected in the results.
The exemplary attitude shown by our Year 6 pupils embodies everything we strive for here at Langley Park. Their determination leads me neatly on to another point of celebration - our newly published Ofsted report that has recently been shared with you. The opening line captures our ethos perfectly:
“The school has high aspirations, not just for academic achievement, but for personal success also. As a result, pupils achieve well from their starting points.”
At Langley Park, we take great pride in recognising that progress comes in many forms, not just academic. This holistic approach helps us nurture principled, compassionate individuals who can make a positive contribution to society. We are always grateful for the continued support and collaboration from our parent community. It truly is a team effort.
This week, we also celebrated the strength and richness of our academy community through Cultural Diversity Day. The children had the opportunity to take part in both African drumming and cultural dance workshops, engaging with different cultures through the arts. It was heart-warming to see so many pupils proudly wearing traditional clothing that represents their heritage and identities; the celebration of culture and inclusion throughout the day was truly magical.
Before I finish, I do have a small plea: please be mindful of your driving on and around the academy site, particularly during drop-off and pick-up times. It is a very busy period with many pedestrians, including young children, crossing the road. We have had a few near misses recently that could have been easily avoided. Please do take extra care, watch your speed and remain vigilant.
Thank you, as always, for your support. Wishing you a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Miss S Brading
During a visit from A-Life earlier this year, all children took part in fun and engaging workshops about health, fitness and wellbeing. Following this, we are pleased to be able to share with you that we now have access to A-Life at Home, an ad-free video platform designed to support your child's physical and mental wellbeing beyond the classroom. The platform includes:
Brain Boosts - short, engaging videos (3-8 minutes long) on topics such as mental health, sleep, screen time and more, plus downloadable family discussion sheets and activities.
Body Boosts - fun movements videos (1-10 minutes long) including wake and shake, mini workouts, active games, stretching and more to get everyone moving
Children's Mental Health Page - tools and resources to help children understand and take care of their own mental wellbeing
Let us work together to keep children healthy, active and thriving, at school and at home. To access A-lIfe at Home simply click the link below, or scan the QR code, and set up your own username and password.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
