As the weather begins to warm up, we come to the end of another fun and busy week.
The history workshops have continued to be a great success, with the remaining year groups now enjoying their turn. These sessions have been a fantastic way to bring the children’s learning to life, and it’s clear they have gained a great deal from the experience.
With warmer weather forecast, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately, including sun hats, and is wearing sunscreen and as always has a full water bottle in school. We’ve had some questions about shirts and ties. We would still like the children to wear their ties to school; however, if it becomes too hot, they are welcome to remove them after asking an adult. This helps prevent them from getting lost.
If your child needs to bring sunscreen to school, please ensure it is clearly labelled, kept in their bag, and not shared with others under any circumstances.
This evening, we are excited to be hosting our very first Year 5 sleepover at school, as preparation for their residential trip in Year 6. We’re all looking forward to it and can’t wait to share how it went in next week’s update.
A reminder that there is still time to respond to our consultation regarding Early Closure on Wednesdays. So far, we’ve received only an 18% response rate; still just a small portion of the school community. If you’d like your voice heard, please submit your response via the school office. We are keen to hear from as many of you as possible.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

According to Ofcom, 69% of under-18s use a smartphone as their main method of going online. Additionally, 49% of children use them for online gaming, putting smartphones only just behind consoles as the device of choice for playing games on. Most people won't require such statistical evidence, however, to recognise for themselves the huge importance of phones to young people.
This information makes it essential to help and guide children to use their phones responsibly and, above all, safely. From passcodes to parental controls, and from screen time to scams, the below guide contains essential advice for all parents and carers.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
