As we close another busy week at the academy, I would like to share some of the highlights that made this week special.
We began with our Careers Fair and I would like to thank all of the volunteers who gave up their time to support this important event. Your participation made a real difference in providing our pupils with insights into various career options. This year's fair was particularly exciting and featured presentations from the police and even a chance for pupils to meet their police dogs. We also welcomed cabin crew representatives who shared their experiences in the skies. We were fortunate to host professionals from the National Grid, Kickstart and a micro scientist too. Finally, we had virtual visitors from far and wide who are connected to the academy through members of our staff team and who showcased a range of exciting fields; from an osteopath to an interior designer and everything in between! Engaging with these professionals allowed our pupils to envision their futures and understand the skills and qualifications needed for various careers. It is vital that we educate our children about the diverse paths available to them and your contributions helped ignite a spark of curiosity and inspiration.
This week we also celebrated World Book Day which is always an exciting occasion. It was fantastic to see so many pupils dressed in costumes that clearly showed a lot of effort and creativity. From superheroes and princesses to fantastical creatures, their enthusiasm for reading was palpable. The atmosphere was filled with joy as pupils paraded their outfits and engaged in conversations about their favourite books. Our special alien visitors, who wore underpants just like in the story "Aliens Love Underpants," added a unique twist as they invaded Langley Park and entertained each class with captivating stories. This creative storytelling experience allowed our pupils to explore new narratives and sparked lively discussions around literature. The day served as a wonderful reminder of the joy that books can bring and I encourage everyone to continue exploring and sharing stories beyond this occasion. A great appreciation goes to those who participated in the spirit of the day - it truly showcased the power of literature to ignite the imagination.
A massive thank you goes to Mr Fenton for organising World Book Day. Events like these are important for promoting a love of reading and fostering a sense of community within our academy. I hope everyone enjoyed the celebrations and found inspiration in the stories shared.
Thank you for your ongoing support and let’s look forward to another engaging week ahead!

Whilst Marvel Rivals has been deemed suitable for children aged 12 and over, a large number of children younger than this are accessing the game and, aside from age guidance, there are several risks associated with it that parents and carers of those accessing it should be aware of. The below guide offers more information on these safety concerns and lets you know how to ensure that children playing the game can have a fun and age-appropriate experience.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
