Ingredients:
20g unsalted butter
3 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp caster sugar
4 tbsp plain flour
1/4 tbsp baking powder
pinch of salt
Add a good-sized microwaveable mug.
Add the butter and milk into a microwaveable mug and heat in 10 second increments, swirling in between, until the butter is melted.
Stir in the vanilla extracts, then the sugar, followed by the flour, baking powder and salt. Beat the mixture with a fork until smooth. Scrape the mixture into a clean microwaveable mug.
Cook the cake in the microwave for 1 minute on high (adjust timings for other wattage microwaves). If the sponge is firm to the touch, it is ready. If not, keeping cooking in 10 second increments until cooked.
As you get more confident with the recipe, experiment with adding other things to it (e.g. chocolate chips or sprinkles). Top with chocolate spread/biscoff/squirty cream and enjoy!
Cookery Club was back this week and we started off by making delicious cheese scones.
I bet they didn't last long once they got home!
If you try any of our recipes, we'd love to hear from you! Send your pictures to the academy office for the attention of Mrs Vidler-Green or Mrs Brazendale
