This week, our Journalism Club researched the International Family Equality Day (4th May). Additionally, teachers and children were interviewed about their feelings and views regarding the topic. They were asked to leave a positive message for those who may need to hear about it.
Mr Downard: "All extended family and all the people that support them... family means can be different. Spend time with the people in your family you love."
"Family means a happy place to me."
Child: "Families are our friends and you need to include everyone. You can go out with your family to celebrate."
"Do not compare yourself to others because at the end of the day everyone is unique."
"Everyone can be different no one is the same."
"Even though people have some similarities there, they are not the same."
