As the Hanna Springs Counselor, I will empower students with a comprehensive school counseling program that is obtainable for the entire campus. I will guide our students with fidelity to have the end in mind by engaging growth for independent victories and to become leaders through academic wins, behavioral supports, and social growth.

Programs Definition, Rationale and Assumptions:
Program Definition: The Hanna Springs Counseling program will empower students with a comprehensive school counseling program that is obtainable for the entire campus. It will guide students, with fidelity, to have the end in mind by engaging growth for independent victories and to become leaders through academic wins, behavior supports, and social growth.
Rationale: Providing the Hanna Family students with a counseling program that meets their social, emotional, and academic needs enables each and every child to build a foundation that will support their overall growth to become productive citizens of society. The program's intent is to provide tools, guidance, and support for every student, teacher, and parent of the Hanna Family. The purpose of the program is to provide the Hanna Family with a counseling program that meets their social, emotional, and academic needs.
Assumptions: In order for the HSE Counseling Program to be effective, the following conditions and resources are necessary:
Complete access to the Counselor for all of the Hanna Springs Elementary students, PK -5th grade
Define and build a Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP) based on campus needs assessment data and adopted by appropriate stakeholders
Opportunity for regular guidance lessons, within all classes and small groups as appropriate, supported by campus data
School wide initiatives of support, including language and tools, to provide commonality for the Hanna Family
Counselor will take the opportunity for regular and intentional Professional Development while adhering to ethical professional school counseling practices
Counselor will dedicate most effort towards direct time with the students of Hanna Springs Elementary
Appropriate budget for books, supplies, and tools as needed for the program as well as benevolence funds for basic student needs
Development of Program Goals
Creating goals is crucial for a successful and intentional Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP). Being that it was the first year for Mrs. Brown at Hanna Springs, she relied heavily on the stakeholders while collecting entities of data to determine target points to develop the program goals. SMART goals within the CSCP allow for development from the ground up within program. Needs assessments, student outcome data, HSE Counceling Advisory Committee (CAC), and other stakeholders allowed for a reliable and purposeful focused CSCP to be built at Hanna Springs Elementary.
Process for Evaluating Program
Counselor, Principals, and the HSE Counseling Advisory Committee (CAC) review data for the campus indicators to fulfill the needs of students and the campus as a whole. Documentation of the counselor's use of time is completed to ensure that at least 80% of time is used towards actual counseling duties.
Being the first year at Hanna Springs for Mrs. Brown, she has built systems and procedures to ensure that students needs are being met while the comprehensive school counseling program has a strong foundation to grow from.
Goals, needs, and interventions were re-evaluated regularly to ensure the program focus was appropriately targeted. Trends, survey data, and campus needs will continue to guide stakeholders, the Hanna Springs CAC, and Mrs. Brown to fuel goals of the CSCP.
