At our event, we put together and passed out care packages to staff at Kaiser Permanente because we wanted to acknowledge their mental well-being and the stress of modern lifestyles placed on doctors and healthcare workers. The high demands and pressures of this environment can lead to burnout, especially in those on the front lines dealing directly with patient care. We provided care packages in order to bring the mood up, build morale, and be even just a small comfort showing how community support can make it easier for mental-health impacts of modern times.
The Modern Mind fundraiser connects to modern mental health by raising money to support programs and resources (such as the Kaiser care packages!) that help students understand and manage their well-being. In today’s world, many teens deal with stress, pressure, and constant online influence, so supporting mental health has become more important than ever. This fundraiser brings people together for a positive cause and spreads awareness about the importance of taking care of your mind. Even a small event can make a difference by encouraging conversations, building community, and helping provide tools that support healthier thinking and emotional balance.
The Clearspace Challenge helps support modern mental health by getting students to take a break from constant screen time. To join, people use the community code, film a quick video showing how they clear their space or unplug for a moment, and send it in to enter for a prize. The challenge makes it fun to step away from distractions and focus on yourself for a bit.
Writing positive messages on the chalk supports modern mental health by spreading encouragement around the community. Me and my partner wrote short, uplifting notes on sidewalks or walls that others can see throughout the day. It’s a small way to brighten someone’s day and remind people to take care of themselves. The also brings people together and makes a positive, supportive environment where everyone can feel a little more motivated and less stressed. Here are just a few examples of the messages that were written.
Throughout the Finals Week, we utilized AP Classroom to help us Review All Topics; this was the ideal way for us to prepare for our finals! Everything was categorized into different topics so that we could focus on our weak areas. By using AP classroom to help with the practice & identify what types of questions may be on our exam, this helped us prepare for a better and less stressful experience going Into the finals! Overall, by utilizing The AP Classroom Packages, we were able to be more structured and efficient while studying.
In December, we delivered candy canes to local businesses as a way of showing our gratitude for all the hard work they do in our community. While it was a simple gesture, it turned out that many people appreciated it and were very excited about it; it was also a positive experience for us in that we felt more connected with the community and the effect we can make outside the school. Overall, we feel it was a good activity that promotes generosity and the holiday spirit!
This holiday season, we wanted to spread kindness and encouragement through the simple act of placing a positive note on a flower and leaving it on someone's vehicle. While this was a very small gesture, it has the potential to brighten someone's day and help them feel appreciated. Doing this activity demonstrated to us that words are often powerful in influencing and impacting others, including those we may never meet. Overall, it was a positive and meaningful experience because it encouraged everyone to practice compassion and positivity throughout our communities.
We designed an Instagram series called Resetting in 2026 for New Year’s, which focused on self-reflection, goal setting, and mental wellness. In each post, we encouraged our audience to reset their mindset, let go of stress from the year before, and think intentionally about their individual growth. We were able to use this series to communicate with other students via a platform that they already use daily. Overall, the series made a significant impact by allowing us to provide a positive and thoughtful foundation for the New Year.
This March, we made a poster and handed it around to students around the campus to think and reflect on the people in their life that they can rely on, and that there are a lot of things that they don't realize that contribute to their happiness!
As part of our HOSA Mental Health Promotion project, we are handing out free stress balls to help everyone manage daily pressure. It sounds simple, but squeezing a stress ball activates muscles and then releases them, which physically triggers your body to let go of tension. It serves as a tangible, everyday reminder to pause, take a deep breath, and prioritize your mental well-being during stressful school days. Grab yours and take a moment for your health!
For our HOSA Mental Health Promotion project, we are handing out free mental health awareness stickers. These aren't just for decoration—placing a positive or calming sticker on your laptop, water bottle, or phone serves as a constant visual cue to check in with yourself. Every time you look at it, you are reminded to pause, breathe, and remember that your mental health matters amid the chaos of the school day. Pick up a sticker and carry a positive reminder wherever you go!
To promote mental well-being, our HOSA chapter is hosting a school-wide Wellness Week packed with quick, easy ways to destress. Each day during lunch, we will host fun, low-pressure activities—like our stress ball and sticker giveaways—designed to help you take a mental break. We are also running daily spirit days so everyone can dress up and show support for mental health awareness. Take a few minutes out of your day to join us, participate in the themes, and prioritize your well-being!
Our recent Mental Health and Wellness Resource Fair connected our community with an incredible lineup of local therapists, counselors, and wellness experts. Taking care of your mind is just as important as your physical health, and we are so grateful to everyone who showed up to prioritize their well-being. Check out the highlights from the day below!
