No, that would be considered a vacation, recreation, or social activity. 12-month employees may use vacation time, 10-11 month employees may not take time during the school year for vacation, recreation, or social activity or to extend a school holiday or vacation.
Certificated Employees:
Pursuant to Lammersville Unified School District/Lammersville Teachers Association Agreement, Article 14.1.1.3.3 employees will not be advancing on the salary schedule if they do not work seventy-five percent of the days school was in session.
14.1.1.3.3 A full year of credit may be granted only when the Unit Member has taught seventy-five percent (75%) of the days school was in session. A Unit Member who teachers less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the days school is in session shall receive one (1) step on the Salary Schedule for every two (2) years of service credit.
Classified Employees:
Pursuant to Lammersville Unified School District/California School Employees Association Agreement, Article 6.5 employees will not be advancing on the salary schedule if hired after January 1 of the current school year.
6.5 Salary Placement:
Classified personnel permanently hired during the first half of the calendar year (January 1 to June 30th) shall remain on the first step of the salary schedule until July 1 of the following calendar year.
Those permanently employed during the second half of the calendar year (July 1 to December 31) shall advance to the second step of the salary schedule on July 1 of the following calendar year.
Each employee shall advance one step July 1 every year thereafter until the maximum step has been reached.
The employee may apply for a Leave of Absence - Medical Family Member and provide a doctor’s note as required. If the employee is unable to provide a note, or some evidence that there is a family illness, they may request the leave using the Leave Request Form and it will be the discretion of the Superintendent to approve or deny.
Note: A leave of absence based on Article 16.7 of the CSEA Agreement applies only to Permanent employees.
The employee is subject to progressive discipline.
The district needs to maintain fair and consistent policies. If there is a special circumstance, consult with the Director of Human Resources.
Employees are required to request vacation in advance through the Frontline Management System. It is the supervisors responsibility to verify the employee has enough time to cover the request.
If the employee does not have enough vacation time to cover the request the supervisor will address the issue with the employee and deny the portion of the vacation that exceeds the vacation available. If the employee takes the vacation anyway, they may be subject to progressive disciplinary action.
